Dear Fellow Lunar Enthusiasts,

The end of another calendar year, Gregorian style, approaches. Many people let their altruism flow forth and make their annual contribution to the worthwhile. Perhaps they support penguins or clean water or refugees. Each is needy. But don’t forget that ventures in space are also worthwhile. Many organizations like ours are striving to expand humankind’s ability. While we may not be a charity, we have just as important an objective; the future of humanity. Celebrate your successes of the year and make contributions to a better future that includes journeying into space.

It’s been wonderful to see how more and more information about our solar system continues to flow into our knowledge base. The detailed views of the surface Pluto were simply awe-inspiring. Even the nearby Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, after more than 20,000 orbits, can provide beautiful images. See: http://lroc.sese.asu.edu/posts/895.

We thank you for staying with us for our second year. We’ve been busy and prosperous with getting our message out, meeting people and organizations and signing new members. Remember that everyone’s membership is coming up for its annual renewal. Come on back for an exciting third year as we bring humans closer and closer to returning to the Moon.
